About this Event
The Omaha Municipal Land Bank (“OMLB”) is looking to update its Policies and Procedures to guide future acquisition and disposition activities in partnership with the community.
This meeting will provide attendees with the background on land banking and its current process for acquiring, maintaining, and disposing properties prior to participating in the engagement exercises.
Objectives from the engagement activities will seek to gain consensus relating the following:
- To develop community-informed policies and procedures that equitably reflect the needs, interests, and desires of the community;
- To advance opportunities for residents in historically redlined areas to access and purchase Land Bank properties to support economic growth;
- To support the successful development of vacant parcels purchased from the Land Bank;
- Prioritize disposition of properties for equitable access to available land, and more.
Information captured from these community engagement efforts will be used to inform policy decisions and any application changes. Ultimately, through this effort, OMLB seeks to be a leading champion for equitable development for affordable housing and a committed partnership with a range of strong community-based organizations, resident leaders, and other neighborhood stakeholders like you throughout Omaha.
