About this Event
Community in Practice: Self-care through Rebozo
Calling our queer and trans Black, Indigenous, and Communities of Color to gather with us for a self-care practice facilitated by Irasema Reza Bailey. She will lead us to a knowledge sharing session about the rebozo.
The rebozo is a Mexican garment with deep roots in Mexican culture that had many uses, including healing.
This knowledge share will include:
- An opening; asking for consent/permission
- A brief history of the Rebozo and cosmovision
- Rebozo movements and care techniques
- Debriefing and closing
We will learn another way of caring for ourselves and others using the wisdom of the rebozo.
We will provide yoga mats and our facilitator will provide the rebozo. Please feel free to bring your own mats, blankets, rebozo and anything that will make your expereince more comfortable.
Nourishing food and refreshments will be provided.
