Community Garden Day with WCS LA & LA Neighborhood Land Trust

Join WCS LA and the LA Neighborhood Land Trust (LANLT) for some soil- and soul-tending during this community garden cleanup!

LANLT, a local nonprofit that has been developing green space in LA’s communities of color since 2002, is hosting us at their West Athens Victory Garden. LANLT has stewarded this property since 2013, converting it into a community garden that provides healthy, fresh food and a respite from the dense, asphalt-heavy surrounding area.

During this event, you will support the garden through hands-on tasks such as weeding, mulching, composting, and general site care. No experience is needed. Our team will provide guidance, tools, and materials.

We recommend you bring:

• A reusable water bottle
• Sun protection - Sunscreen, hat, and/or sunglasses
• Gardening gloves if you have a pair (we will also have extras available)
• Comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes that can get a little dirty
