The Kearney Lions Club, with support from Scouts BSA Troop 397 and Cub Scout Pack 397, are coordinating a Flag Retirement Ceremony for the community.The event will be held on November 16, 2025 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at Mack Porter Park. The public is invited to attend as local Scouts respectfully retire U.S. flags that are no longer suitable for display.
If you are a Veteran (or know a Veteran) that would like to participate in the ceremony and retire a flag, please let us know and we will gladly make that happen!
So mark you calendars, pack a lawn chair, and head out to Mack Porter Park on Sunday, November 16th.
Do you have a flag that is ready for retirement? Bring it with you and we will take care of it in the proper manner.
