The Community Fitness program hosted by RiverScape this summer will continue at the Market on Fridays through the fall, and into the winter/early spring months of the new year. With a focus on wellness while spending time in the Market, you can enjoy an instructor lead Yoga, or Tai Chi & Qigong session in the Market’s pavilion from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Afterwards, meet friends for lunch and shopping with any one of the Market’s unique prepared foods vendors, local growers, specialty foods, and artisan vendors. Community fitness instructor, Monica Schultz with Immortal Tree Qigong will lead an hour-long Tai Chi & Qigong session. You will start with breathing exercises, warm up, and gentle stretching. From there, you will be guided through flowing movements mixed with short standing meditations. The sessions end with a slightly longer guided standing (or sitting) meditation. This session will close with a few minutes to answer questions or discuss any insights. Qigong does not require any specific skills (other than breathing) or equipment (other than your body).
