About this Event
Los Angeles is in the midst of a running boom, but the culture behind it has been years in the making. This conversation will explore how run clubs have built lasting communities across diverse neighborhoods, both online and in person. From early pioneers to the latest generation of leaders, we’ll dive into what fuels these movements and their impact on the city.
Hosted by veteran entertainment journalist and Running Sucks 101 author Raziq Rauf, who has been embedded in LA’s running scene for over a decade, the discussion brings together key voices shaping the culture. Panelists include Kit John, founder of Movement Runners (2011), Erik Valientes, founder of Blacklist LA (2013), Zaakiyah Brisker, co-founder of South Central Run Club (2020), and Richard Lin, director of Lombardy Run Club (2023), each sharing how running has connected people, shaped identities, and redefined LA’s streets.
