Animals roar to communicate and protect their territories. These gestures resemble Toronto's diverse diaspora while protesting. In Friendship We Roar explores the power of roar. How do diasporic communities , specifically Asian and Middle Eastern communities, in Toronto roar to support, connect, and dissent with their (ancestral) homelands?
Join us in our upcoming exhibition at Unit 270 from August 9-31, as we explore the visual impact of protest, particularly through banners, signs and posters that have defined Toronto's social movements. ✊??
