Be prepared for a Disaster! Whether it is to be informed, to help a neighbor, or get involved this class is for YOU!About this Event
Students must attend all 5 sessions to complete their training and be qualified to volunteer in Escambia County, FL. The course is free and all students will receive a basic CERT supplies kit for free as well.
Class Dates/ Times:
- Tuesday July 30, 2024 6 pm-9 pm
- Thursday August 1, 2024 6 pm- 9 pm
- Tuesday August 6, 2024 6 pm-9 pm
- Thursday August 8, 2024 6 pm-9 pm
- Saturday August 10, 2024 8 am - 4 pm
In this course, you'll learn how to better prepare yourself and your community before, during, and after a disaster.
Topics include:
- CERT Organization
- Disaster Medical Operations - Basic First Aid
- Disaster Psychology - Helping survivors after a disaster
- Fire Safety & Utility Controls - Water, Gas and Electric Safety
- Light Search & Rescue
- Terrorism & CERT - Knowing your role during community threats
- Hands-On Exercises
