Join us for a special presentation of data, art, and a video documentary about the Summer Community Ecologist Internship Program. Partnering with the City of Schenectady and the Schenectady County Connects program, the Schoharie River Center was able to offer an experiential internship program for Schenectady County High School students. They learned to run water quality assessments, identify trees, and overall environmental literacy, and conducted assessments of many area waterways, including Iroquois Lake, the Mohawk River, Stienmetz Park, Woodlawn Preserve, and more.
We will be presenting the data they have collected, as well as unveiling the mural they worked on, and premiering their larger video project featuring several short films and documentaries.
The presentation will start at 2pm. Any teens interested in our Environmental Study Team can join us at 1pm for a hike and ecology based activity to learn more about getting involved with the year-round program.
