Join us for a Community Craft session where Melina Shabel not only guides you through dance steps, but immerses you in the cultural roots, history, and rhythms of African traditions. Through movement inspired by traditional West African rhythms, embrace the spirit of togetherness and community as we dance together, celebrating the joy and unity of African culture.

About Melina Shabel:
Melina was born-and-raised in Argentina with an insatiable love for dance. She’s been grooving, training and teaching to Afro Brazilian, Afro Guinean, and Afro Cuban beats for a solid 18 years, spreading the dance bug from Argentina to Mexico and in the stunning landscapes of New Zealand. She has been sharing her dance passion and knowledge in Queenstown since 2001, and has also presented workshops and performed at notable events in New Zealand, including festivals like NZ Spirit, Lunasa, Burning Horse and Wellfest.

About Community Craft:
Join us on the third Tuesday of each month for Community Craft - a free, drop-in night to explore creative forms like writing, sewing, and dance. All levels and ages welcome. Come along and hone a craft!
