About this Event

PLEASE READ COMPLETELY BEFORE REGISTERING --

Blended Learning Courses combine online learning with in-person instruction and the certification exam.  For either of these courses, Community CPR/AED and/or Basic First Aid, after registering (within 24 hrs) you will receive an email with your online course link.  You can select just Community CPR/AED, just Basic First Aid, or both.  You will need to complete your online course prior to your in-person session date that you are registering for here. The online course will teach all of the course information and the in-person session provides the hands-on practice and instructor interaction, as well as the administration of the certification exam(s).

Students should plan for the online courses to each take approximately 2-3 hours to complete, depending on personal pace.  However, they don't have to be completed all in one sitting.  You will be able to stop and start again and the program saves your place.  The instructor will not be re-teaching everything in the online course and expects students to learn the material as they go through it.  The in-person session is to practice and show the hands-on skills learned in the online course, with the coaching of the instructor.

Course Descriptions: Community CPR/AED (Infant, Child and Adult certification) -  Includes instruction in CPR for all ages, use of the Automated External Defibrillator and how to help a victim who is choking. Basic First Aid - Class topics include:  Response preparation • Recognizing an emergency • Consent • Patient assessment • Bleeding control • Injuries, shock and poisoning • Common first aid situations—bites and stings, heat   and cold emergencies, burns and more. Upon successful completion, both course provide a two-year official certification from the American Safety and Health Institute (www.hsi.com.)

Pricing: Community CPR/AED - $45; Community CPR/AED + Basic First Aid - $70

In-person session times: 11:00a - 12:00p for Community CPR/AED only; 11:00a-1:00p for combo

Location: Englewood Christian Church, located at 4316 Barnes Rd S, Jacksonville, FL 32207 in the Fellowship Hall. Park in front parking lot facing Barnes Rd and look for the Safety First sign in front of the correct gate to enter.

COVID-19 Precautions: Please bring/wear a face mask. We will also practice social distancing in class; the space is large enough to do so. Weather permitting, we can also go outside to the inner courtyard for parts of the class.

Our cancellation/refund policy: Once an online course link is emailed out, the course is 50% refundable if you choose not to take it at all.  Rescheduling of your in-person session must be done 24 hours in advance and you can then be rescheduled for the next available in-person session.  Same day cancellations or no-shows cannot be rescheduled except under case by case circumstances.
