This is a free, monthly gathering designed for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, friends, family, and allies. It is a safe and supportive space where everyone is welcomed, valued, and respected.Moderated by dedicated volunteers from Hamilton Ohio Pride, these conversations provide an opportunity to share, listen, and connect with others in an atmosphere of inclusion and understanding. Come as you are. Share as much (or as little) as you like. Feel empowered knowing this space is for you.
Water and snacks will be provided by Hamilton Ohio Pride.
*Please note: This is a sober event. To ensure a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all, alcohol is not permitted during Community Conversations. Thank you for respecting this guideline.*
Guidelines for Safe and Inclusive Conversation:
1. Safe Space: Know that you are in a safe space where everyone is welcome, valued, and respected.
2. Speak for Yourself: Share your thoughts and feelings using "I" or "Me" statements, rather than "We" or "Us" statements.
3. Time Limits: Limit your sharing to 3-5 minutes so everyone has a chance to speak. A gentle tap will signal the end of your sharing time.
4. No Cross Talk: Cross talk is when two or more people engage in conversation excluding others. Respect each speaker’s turn without interruptions or side conversations.
5. Support, Not Solutions: Focus on offering support rather than trying to "fix" or advise others during the sharing time.
Please do not share book referrals, counselor recommendations etc. during our sharing time.
After the meeting, feel free to connect for recommendations, resources, or one-on-one discussions. Let’s create a space that uplifts and honors all voices.
