Community Conversation with Parks Director Andy RodriguezHosted by the Hamline-Midway Community Building Committee
Join neighbors from across Hamline-Midway for a community conversation with St. Paul Parks & Recreation Director Andy Rodriguez on Thursday, February 5, from 6:30–8:30 PM at Hancock Recreation Center (1610 Hubbard Ave).
This is a chance for neighbors who care about our parks and recreation center to come together, hear what’s planned for 2026, and learn how we—as neighbors—can help shape and activate the green and public spaces that bring our neighborhood together.
Our goals
This meeting is about more than updates — it’s about building a stronger partnership between neighbors, HMC, and the Parks Department so we can celebrate, support, and activate our public spaces together.
We’ll hear directly from Parks Director Andy Rodriguez about:
-Current and upcoming programming and events for 2026
-Investments in Hamline-Midway parks and recreation centers
-What’s possible in the months and years ahead
We’ll also explore:
-How neighbors, the Community Building Committee, HMC, and Parks & Rec can work more closely together
-How we can better support organic, neighbor-led events and activities in our parks
The Community Building Committee’s goal for 2026 is to make sure every park in Hamline-Midway—even the smallest ones—hosts at least one fun, free, and public event, helping spark connection, joy, and a stronger sense of place across the neighborhood.
Registration is not required, but it helps us plan for space and seating. Thank you for helping us prepare.
