Help LGBT Foundation contribute to a study about 'Sandwich Carers' across Greater Manchester.
About this Event

LGBT Foundation is supporting Manchester Metropolitan University, GMCVO and University of Greenwich to research 'sandwich carers'.

You might be a sandwich carer if you provide unpaid care across generations, for example, caring for children and elderly parents or children and partners, balancing competing care expectations, needs, and demands.

Not enough is known about the experiences of this important group and the challenges they face. This research aims to understand the unique demands on this group, and the support that might be needed.

During this conversation, you'll be asked about your experience as a sandwich carer, the challenges you might face and how you build resiliance through your caring responsibilities.

To take part, you must be:

  • A Greater Manchester resident
  • Self define as a 'sandwich carer'.
  • You can find more information about different types of sandwich caring here:MAHSC Sandwich carers flyer specific 210624 v1.1.pptx. You can also view the partipant information sheet using the QR on the flyer linked above.
  • You might not see your individual experience reflected here, particularly if you care for a partner, so please use your own judgement and refer to the participant information sheet for more details. If you have any questions about your eligibility, contact us at [email protected].

You will receieve a shopping voucher as a thank you, and travel costs up to £5 can be reimbursed.

This event will be at LGBT Foundation (Floor 2, Fairbairn House, 72 Sackville Street, M1 3NJ) on 30th July, 6-7:30pm.
