Join us Wednesday, September 3 from 3-9pm as we host Brave Irene's for Community Constellations. 10% of all sales will be donated back to this local organization that builds literary community through events. Tagline: GET LIT.
Brave Irene's launches during a time of loneliness, lost literacy, AI's encroachment, and civic unrest. Brave Irene's is for all the medicine that is an antidote to that.
Here's what's planned for the first season, beginning this July:
· Teaching literature and writing to the incarcerated through the Colorado Department of Corrections;
· The return of Stories on the Land at the Concrete Couch, starting with a cake walk for Mirandy and Brother Wind;
· A Spelling Bee for adults at the Ivywild Gym;
· A Mother Goosery workshop for early literacy through delight, hosted in the library at Ruth Washburn;
· "The Tortured Poets Yurt," a songwriting workshop for Swiftie teenagers in the yurt at the Flying Pig Farm;
· Men Reading Fiction, a curated bookgroup that bucks some noted trends;
· Platicamos: A standing weekly Spanish conversation potluck;
· Learning Middle English through Julian of Norwich's The Shewings;
· Cook-a-Book series;
· Postcard penpals for children;
· If they are funded, more poetry murals, like the one across from North Middle School;
· & more!

We are honored to live at the heart of this neighborhood. In fact, one of our guiding statements is the Italian, “Riportare il quartiere!” It means, “Bring back the neighborhood.” And that's what we are doing! We hope to give the neighborhood a place to gather, to celebrate, and to remember. We also want to give back. During Community Constellations, 10% of proceeds will be donated to the participating charity.
