Reduce, reuse and refresh your wardrobe at the Elgin Recreation Center’s Community Clothing Swap! Join us for a fun, eco-friendly event that brings neighbors together while giving gently used clothing a second life! The Elgin Recreation Center Community Clothing Swap is the perfect chance to clean out your closet, find new treasures, and support a more sustainable community.
How It Works:
If you can, bring clean, gently used clothing items for all ages and sizes. We ask that donations are clean, washed, and in good condition, with no stains, rips, odors, or broken zippers. We do not accept undergarments or socks. YOU DO NOT NEED TO DONATE TO PARTICIPATE.
If you are donating, drop clothing off at the Elgin Recreation Center in advance of the event, or in the first 2 hours of the event.
When you arrive, check in and receive your “Who you’re shopping for” form. You’ll write the ages of the people you’re shopping for, then the total number of items you’re leaving with. This will help us show the impact of the swap!
Once you’re in, browse and take home items you love—no cost, no limits, just community sharing!

⏰ Time: 10AM – 2PM
All remaining items will be donated to Advocacy Outreach!
