Independent creative time in the Cat Clay Studio to work on your hand-built projects! Ages 18+
Book a 2-hour session in our Cat Clay Studio to work on projects independently, or with guidance from our clay instructors!
Sessions are offered six days per week at various times. Limited spaces are available. Interested? Attendees must book time using this link:
https://www.catalystartscollaborative.com/service-page/community-clay-studio-handbuilding
Your reservation includes access to tools/wheels/glazes, guidance (if needed), kiln firing, and shelf space in our studio, but you are responsible for your own clay, which may be purchased from our website or in the studio ($7 for 5lbs or $22 for 25lbs plus tax). Even if you don't need guidance, there will be a Cat Clay staff member available in all sessions to provide support and answer questions.
(If you're interested in learning how to throw on a pottery wheel, check out our "Community Clay Studio Pottery Wheel," or "Beginner/Intermediate Wheel Throwing" offerings from our "Classes" page!)
Space in our clay studio is limited, and in the interest of ensuring we can accommodate everyone, pre-registration for our clay offerings is a requirement. Showing up for an offering without registering through our website does not guarantee you a spot, and means you may be turned away.
If you'd like to register for this offering at a discount, check out our "Cat Clay Multipasses," available for purchase from the "Memberships & Passes" tab of our website. While multipasses are not required for you to attend this class, they can be applied to the following offerings:
- Community Clay Studio
- Pottery Wheel
- Community Clay Studio
- Handbuilding
- Kids' Clay Play
Please bring with you:
- Clothes that can get dirty, and/or an apron
Optional:
- Water in container with spill-proof lid
- Layered clothing
While shelf space is included, we ask that you do not leave projects unattended in the studio for longer than 2 weeks at a time, to ensure we have enough shelf space for those who are actively working on a project. Additionally, please return to pick up finished pieces within 2 weeks of firing.
All studio rules must be followed at all times for everyone's safety. Any participant who is misusing/abusing equipment, stealing or tampering with Cat Clay/other participant's items without permission will lose the privilege of using our facility without refunds.

Scholarships are available for those who otherwise would not be able to attend art classes, thanks to generous donations to our Art Start Fund. If you would like to support (y)our commUNITY by making classes available to others, see our sponsorships page. Thank you!
