Spreading Holiday Cheer: Annual Christmas Caroling in New BedfordNew Bedford, MA – On Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 6:00 PM, Mindful Moms of New Bedford (MIMO) will host their beloved annual Christmas caroling event, bringing festive cheer to New Bedford families. The group will meet in the parking lot of the Senior Center (warming house) at Buttonwood Park.
Lyric books will be provided, and participants are encouraged to bring candles to light the way and dress in festive attire. The event is open to all, and no prior singing experience is required.
A Tradition of Community, Joy, and Generosity
MIMO has been organizing this heartwarming caroling tradition since 2013, and each year, dozens of families from the Greater New Bedford area join together to spread holiday joy. While many are first-time carolers, several families return year after year, making it a cherished tradition.
The children, in particular, take charge of the fun, leading the way, knocking on doors, and handing out cookies. The group is warmly welcomed by local residents, who often show their gratitude by offering treats in return. It’s a joyful exchange that builds community spirit and spreads goodwill.
This Year's Route
This year, carolers will visit homes along the north side of Buttonwood Park, stopping at homes decorated for the season while singing classic Christmas carols. MIMO is committed to respecting all neighbors, and carolers will only visit homes with Christmas decorations, ensuring they are sensitive to those who do not celebrate the holiday for religious, cultural, or personal reasons.

MIMO, or Mindful Moms of New Bedford, is a local group of moms committed to mindful parenting, environmental responsibility, and building a vibrant, loving community. Through family-oriented events like the annual caroling, MIMO works to foster connection, compassion, and volunteerism within the Greater New Bedford area.
