EVERY COIN TELLS A STORY πͺ A CHEW VALLEY COMMUNITY CELEBRATION! valley-arts.co.uk/events/every-coin-tells-a-story-20-jun
For one day only, some of the Chew Valley Hoard coins are coming home to the valley for the first time!
Valley Arts, in partnership with South West Heritage Trust, invites you to join us for a free community celebration inspired by one of Britainβs greatest archaeological discoveries: 2,584 silver coins buried in a Somerset field during the Norman Conquest.
On Saturday 20 June, the Old School Room complex in Chew Magna will come alive with stories, music, creativity and hands-on activities for all ages!
π Live music from local artists.
π Strike your own coin.
π Try screen printing.
π Follow the Treasure Trail.
π Dress up in a medieval costume.
π Explore macro photography.
π Hear the remarkable story of the hoard from South West Heritage Trust Senior Curator Amal Khreisheh.
π And see some of the coins themselves on public display in the South West for the very first time!
This is where the story began. Now the celebration comes home!
