Mike Zimmer has been the Executive Director of the Minot Area Men's Winter Refuge since February of 2015. He brings a wealth of administrative and managerial experience to his position at the Men's Winter Refuge. Under Mike's guidance, the Men's Winter Refuge has provided shelter, food, clothing, transportation, basic nursing care, employment assistance, and housing assistance to more than 1,500 homeless men and has helped more than 2,500 others in need through homeless prevention services.
Mike is a member of the Minot Alliance of Nonprofits and the Alliance to End Homelessness. He is also a past board member of both the Minot Area Homeless Coalition and the Lord's Cupboard Food Pantry.
A native of Glendive, Montana, Mike has resided in Minot since April 2014. Prior to coming to the Men's Winter Refuge, Mike had a 25-year career in the newspaper industry as a sports editor and sports writer. Mike has three children and two grandsons.
