Join Harford Family House in recognizing Homelessness Awareness Month at our exclusive forum, Community and Conversation: The State of Homelessness in Harford County. This unique forum enables our community members to learn more about their neighbors experiencing homelessness, the challenges they face, and how they can be part of the solution. Hear firsthand from our panel of local professionals how we work together to end Harford County homelessness.

  • Each expert provides a short overview of their organization’s role, perspective, and current challenges

11:20 AM – 11:50 AM | Panel Discussion: The Changing Landscape

Theme: “Doing More with Less: Funding Cuts and Frontline Realities”
Topics include:

  • The downstream impact of federal funding cuts on housing, mental health, and emergency services
  • Increase in first-time homelessness and economic precarity
  • Strain on public systems and nonprofit partners
  • How their organizations are adapting and collaborating
  • Challenges faced by housing, mental health, and community service providers
  • New strategies for collaboration amid shrinking resources

  • The facilitator explains the discussion prompts and the question submission process

  • Discussion prompts on each table (e.g., “What barriers do you see locally?” “What can we do together to create change?”)

  • Moderator facilitates a dynamic Q&A session using audience-submitted questions
