All Soul Service is an ancient Christian service to celebrate our departed dead, also known in other customs as Día de Los Muertos To prepare, we have set up an altar outside St. Matthew’s from Oct. 18- Nov 1st
The altar will be alongside the church beginning October 18.
Suggestions for the altar:
Copies of photos of deceased loved ones
Flowers
Candles (battery-operated)
Small remembrance items
Small skulls and skeletons
Small religious articles
* Food wrappers of favorite foods
* Empty bottles of favorite beverages
*These can be drawings or photos.
Drawings from your children of loved ones
The Service will begin on November St. at 7 pm
Location: St. Matthew’s Church at 900 Vine St., Liverpool, NY
Celebrant/Co-Presider: The Rev. Bruce Gowe from St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church
Preacher/Co-Presider: The Rev. Julie Kelly from St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of America
What is it? A time to remember the death of loved ones gone before us and celebrate the promise of eternal life
