About this Event
Come join us for our BY and FOR Community Advocates Gathering at the ASHHO Cultural Community Center! This event is all about coming together to discuss important community issues, share ideas, and connect with like-minded individuals. Whether you're a seasoned advocate or just starting out, this gathering is the perfect place to network and learn from others. Don't miss out on this opportunity to make a difference in our community!
Who: Advocates who are providing Sexual Assault Services BY and FOR culturally specific communities, including but not limited to people of the Global Majority, people living with disabilities, immigrants, refugees, and/or people experiencing homelessness.
What: Join us for the kick-off to bi-monthly gatherings of advocates working with sexual assault survivors and loved ones in culturally specific communities in Washington State.
This gathering is designed to build a network of leaders and weavers working at the intersections of social change. Hear updates and share your successes and challenges with colleagues and Statewide Representative for Culturally Specific Sexual Assault Programs in Washington State. Hosted by The Ripple Project.
After welcoming in all the familiar and new faces in-person and virtual attendance, we will take time to honor the sacred work you do in supporting victims/survivors. We’ll gather over a delicious meal from Chef Khurshida. After lunch, we’ll hear a brief introduction to a new thematic topic, followed with an opportunity for a roundtable discussion and sharing. There will be time to form connection (or to reconnect) with colleagues, exchange business cards (or Blinq) and to mingle.
