About this Event
Dear Friend,
The 2025 Commonwealth Prayer Breakfast is just five weeks away! Tickets for the Breakfast on January 8, 2025 are now available.
For more than a half-century, the Commonwealth Prayer Breakfast has been held on the day when the General Assembly convenes and the Governor delivers the State of the Commonwealth address. It is fitting to start such an important day by acknowledging our dependence on our Creator.
Following such a tumultuous election season, the 2025 Breakfast will focus on how each of us can do justice with a humble and merciful spirit. The teachings of Jesus shine a light on a common vision for all, no matter our political labels or faith traditions. We are called to “proclaim the good news” by serving our neighbors who are poor, afflicted, and oppressed. By doing so joyfully, our prayer is that 2025 will become “the year of the Lord’s favor” (Luke 4:18-19; Matthew 25:37-40).
Led by Governor Glenn Youngkin and members of the General Assembly, a bipartisan group of the Commonwealth’s leaders will pray for each aspect of “doing justice” from these scriptures. We also will hear a stirring message of forgiveness and redemption from Ilona Prroj. She is an Albanian pastor who has received her nation’s highest commendation, named for Mother Teresa, from the president of Albania.
The Commonwealth Prayer Breakfast will be on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. in the Greater Richmond Convention Center Ballroom. Individual tickets are $50. Please consider hosting a table of 10 for $500. You may purchase tickets by credit card online here.
Our nation – and indeed our world -- is divided today in many ways, and we face significant challenges. Yet, through faith there is much to be thankful for. We will be inspired as we are led in prayer by our Commonwealth’s leaders. As the new year begins, we look forward to praying with you for wisdom and guidance.
Gratefully,
The Commonwealth Prayer Breakfast Committee
