A space for experiential engagement with The Jule’s exhibitions.Join us in the galleries for a screening of films by artist Joseph Cornell (1903-1972). Known for his intricate and detailed assemblages, Cornell was also an experimental filmmaker and one of the first to create films from existing film stock. Artist Rachel Libeskind has cited Cornell’s work as a direct inspiration for her exhibition The Golden Record . Experience Cornell’s early avant-garde films in conversation with Libeskind’s sculptural assemblages.
Selected films include Rose Hobart (1936), Cotillion (c. 1940), Midnight Party (c. 1940), and The Children’s Party (c. 1940).
