Using the river as a guide, learn about the history of American Roots Music and its migration up and down the Mississippi River. From Jazz in New Orleans, Blues and Gospel in the Delta, to Rock & Roll in Memphis, hear about its influence on our QC area. As part of our Summer Education Program, the Explore the River Series teaches participants first-hand about the wildlife, history, culture, and geography of the Mississippi River and the Quad Cities. These exciting and informative in person sessions are given on the Channel Cat Water Taxi or during a guided tour at varying river locations nearby. Join us in learning about the unique nature, history, and culture of the Quad Cities May 28th through August 31st.
Channel Cat Talks leave from the Riverbend Commons (2951 River Dr, Moline, IL) at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and run until 10:45 a.m. Channel Cat Talks are $20/session.
Riverine Walks begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and 9 a.m. on Saturdays. Walks are approximately 1.5 hours long. Riverine Walks are $10/session. Riverine Walks are FREE for Members of River Action.
