Cumbria Freemasons are orchestrating an event of national significance to mark an important historical occasion. On June 6, 2024, they will host an event at Kendal Rugby Club to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day when the allied troops of World War Two landed on the beaches of Normandy.
They are welcoming everyone to attend on June 6, and will kick off at 5pm with a commemorative parade, including more than 200 army personnel, veterans, and cadets as well as military vehicles, the Burneside Brass band, and a singer.
The lighting of a beacon at 9:15pm will join others in illumination nationwide and will be complemented by a mouthwatering feast of roasted succulent hog.
The bar will be open and other food options will be available from Kendal Rugby Club’s Takeaway Hatch, No8.
Tickets for the hog roast must be bought prior to the event online.
Entrance on the day is welcome and is priced at £5 per adult and £3 per child.
