About our Judges:

Sydney University Anime Society (SUAnime for short!) is USYD’s number one society for all your Japanese animation needs. They aim to provide a fun and enjoyable space for all fans to share their passion for not only anime, but all of its related subcultures – such as manga/manhua/manhwa, cosplay, art, Vocaloid, gatcha games, and much more!

Find out more about SUAnime on their website.

Rules

  • Entrants must provide a written description that the MC will read during their appearance. This can include details about their costume or provide a story about the character being portrayed. You can offer details about the construction process, materials, number of work hours, or anything else that might impress the judges and fans. This description is limited to 100 words and must include the name of the character being portrayed, as well as their media origin (e.g., Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen).
  • Contestants must arrive in costumes and are responsible for their own belongings. We do not have a dressing area.
  • No profanity is allowed on stage. This includes messages on signs or clothing.
  • Everything brought onto the walk-on must be removed at the end of the time limit – substances such as confetti, glitter, flower petals, and water are not permitted.
  • Entrants may not throw anything into the crowd.
  • All weapons will be subject to inspection before entry and at any point during the event.
