About this Event
Prepare to giggle, chuckle and have a good ol' hearty laugh as three incredible Melbourne-based comedians film their very own Comedy Specials for TV!
Bridget Hassed |
Bridget is a Melbourne-born, Brisbane-raised comedian, writer and all-round cool guy (who also lived in Sydney for a bit but it was just fine). She’s been entertaining audiences with her unique style of dark, deadpan and all-round silly brand of comedy all across the country since 2018. After two split bill shows with her best friend Ryan in Sydney, Brisbane & Wollongong, performing her first solo show at Sydney Fringe & Good Chat Comedy Festivals in 2023; Bridget debuted "GIRL GIRL GIRL" at the 2024 Melbourne International Comedy Festival to critical acclaim, and was nominated for The Best Newcomer award.
"Hassed weaves both a mirthful and viciously cutting web similar to those conjured by Anne Edmonds or Celia Pacquola" - The Age
Maren May |
Maren May is a stand-up comedian and actress from Germany. She would like you to think that her comedy is deadpan, even though she knows she probably smiles too much for that. She loves mixing a dash of silly into more serious stories about family dynamics, mental health and lessons about relationships and friendships. Join her for half an hour of comedy stuffed with stories about being German in Australia and trying to defend stereotypes while slowly realising how many German sayings are in fact about sausages. This show will include all of the best bits from her latest 2024 performance “Maren May is German”.
“A crack up... even in her more serious stories, there is a delightful slice of silliness.” - Fringefeed
Grace Zhang |
Grace Zhang is a cute girl with a bow in her hair who became a standup comedian because she didn't quite have what it takes to make it in the NBA. Her debut solo show CULT SH!T was directed by Australian comedy icon Claire Hooper and changed 2 whole people’s lives!!! Her other Comedy Festival highlights include performing at the Festival Club and twice being in the Breast of the Fest. Approximately 80% of Grace’s comedy is about how they’ll let you do ANYTHING when you’re a cute girl with a bow in your hair. The other 20% is stuff she thinks about when she’s high.
“Eccentric, feisty, unfiltered… a new queen on the comedy scene” - Lilitha Reviews
