Get ready for a night of bold, joyful comedy! This bright night of stand-up comes to you from the Bit By Bit Comedy Workshop, and features our greatest performers. Headlining are two of the founders, Lisa Rossi and Mel Mackey.
Lisa is a journalist-turned-comedian who makes serious issues like class differences in a marriage and cultural divides between growing up in a small town and leaving for big dreams — funny. She has performed stand-up and improv on stages across the country including Comic Strip Live in New York and the Un-Scripted Theatre Company in San Francisco.
Mel has had her toe in everything from improv, sketch and Burlesque but her main skillset is stand-up comedy. Recently crowned "Funniest Person in Iowa 2025," she's been featured all over the Midwest including Des Moines' Tee-Hees Comedy Club and the Des Moines Funny Bone.
With them are features Maggie Fitzpatrick, Meg McMichael, Andrea Szymczyk, Mandy Hurley, Sofia Suarez and your host, Kate Thompson.
The show takes place at xBk Live Annex, a beautiful space tucked inside a an old fire station. Beer, wine, and NA options will be available for purchase, and tickets are just $5, available online and at the door. Come support women in comedy, catch something you won’t see anywhere else, and laugh a lot while you’re at it.
