Gametime Lanes & Entertainment brings another all-star lineup to Amesbury with Boston's Comedy King, Steve Sweeney, along with Dave Rattigan, Dan Donahue and Jen Connolly on Friday, April 25.

Charlestown-born Steve Sweeney is a legendary Boston comedian known as a master of dialects and character voices. With his famous Boston accent and great insight into human nature, Sweeney is so thoroughly Bostonian that he merits his own stop on the MBTA Green Line. He has appeared in dozens of films and televisions shows including Letterman, 2019’s Sweeney Killing Sweeney (in which he spoofed his own persona), as well as Denzel Washington’s The Equalizer, Rodney Dangerfield’s Back to School, The Farelly Brothers’ There’s Something About Mary and Me, Myself and Irene, and several others. He is a frequent guest on Boston radio and was host of the morning-drive Sweeney’s Neighborhood on WZLX (100.7 FM).
Known for his dead-pan delivery and quick, dry wit, Dave Rattigan has performed in Ireland, Japan, at Fenway Park, The Cape Cod Melody Tent, South Shore Music Circus, a lumberyard, the lobby of an ad agency, a library, and several parking lots. “There’s nothing funny about the way he looks, until he gives that deadpan look of his,” popular blogger Ralph Fatello (RalphsPic.com) wrote. “His outward appearance is something out of a mature GQ magazine. He looks like a cross between a semi hip banker, and your mild-mannered father-in-law …. Dave is the master of completely dismantling himself in front of a crowd of strangers. I’m always torn as to whether I should console him, or just laugh my ass off like everyone else …. You know they (comics) are hitting home when the audience starts to point at each other….” His CD was played on SiriusXM and radio stations all over the U.S. and Ireland, and he has appeared on the syndicated Steve Katsos Show and in regional television commercials on NESN.
Man-mountain Dan Donahue works in theaters around New England as the opener for Juston McKinney, and he’s also shared the stage with Boston headliners such as Jimmy Dunn, Mike McDonald, Christine Hurley, Mike Donovan, Paul Nardizzi and Dave Rattigan. He performs at the prestigious Hampton Beach Comedy Festival, and appears in the horror-comedy short film Mars Hill Bait & Tackle.
Newcomer Jen Connolly is sassy and funny. She has impressed at comedy open mics and small shows around Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
