COMEDY 102: Comedy & LIVE Production [for kids & their adults]

In this introductory course, students get a fun entrée into types of modern Chicago-style comedy.

We'll learn the basics of improvisational, stand up, and sketch comedy as well as a intro into comedy writing and analysis - exploring "What is Comedy?" and "Why is 'it' Funny?"

MOST IMPORTANTLY kids and adults of all abilities learn the nuances to producing a live event where students are invited to find their favorite part of the show and learn it, create it and showcase it for the finale. student will learn ticket prices, lighting, camera work and auditioning as well as set design and creating promotional material.

The course is intended for kids and adults! WE find all the best comedy shows result when these two groups of people are connecting in a space of play and laughter! :)

Comedian Mona Aburmishan has brings over a decade of experience teaching kids young and old the fun art of stand up comedy, comedy writing and comedy production.

In one class you and your loved one will learn the power of laughter, the best way to deliver a joke and the fun excitement that goes into producing your own low-pressure comedy show with a final performance on Feb 20th, 2022 - where students will be encouraged to promote their student showcase; officially making each graduate an official Comedian!

The goal of the class for each student to make their tuition for this course back in ticket sales. To feel like a real comedian, each student is given the insight and experience to test the tools and principals of comedy, performance and comedy production in so far as that they can sell tickets to their final show and make their class fee back!
