The innovative professional vocal ensemble begins its 16th season with an eclectic concert featuring American Triptych by Emmy Award-winning composer Jake Runestad, based on the writings of Henry David Thoreau (Massachusetts), Wendell Berry (Kentucky), and John Muir (California). Each of the three movements expresses an aspect of our human connection with the natural world. Also featured will be Due North by Canadian composer Stephen Chatman. These pieces explore the natural wonders of various regions of North America. The musical settings are broad in scope and tone evoking images of stunning landscapes and wildlife.With a passion for live performance, Areté strives to provide a joyful, moving, educational, and soul-nurturing experience.
Tickets are available for $20 online and $25 on the day of the concert.
