We kick off the 2025 – 26 Melodious Harmony series with Come Hell or High Water: Stories of Hope and Perseverance, a celebration concert of the Krapf Organ at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Iowa City at 1:30 pm on November 8. Sponsored by the River Valley Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, this inspiring program will tell the story of this historic organ, which was at the previous music building at the University of Iowa. After the harrowing floods of 2008, it found new life at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Area organists will help bring the organ to life through music by J. S. Bach, Gerhard Krapf, and other composers. The concert is free of charge and a free will offering will go towards the maintenance of the organ. A reception will follow the program. Come join us and hear stories about the journey of the organ and learn more how it has been a part of the cultural fabric of Iowa City, as well as a nationally renowned instrument.
