About this Event
Our inspiring and dynamic Musical Director, Hilary Campbell, will lead the afternoon of music-making featuring the choruses from Vivaldi's Gloria, beautiful music from the Baroque era. It was written in Venice probably in 1715 for the choir of the Ospedale della Pieta, an orphanage for girls. Treat yourself to an afternoon of rewarding and enjoyable choral singing of the Gloria in Excelsis Deo.
The cost of the event includes scores and refreshments.
The order of the afternoon is:
13.00 - doors open for registration and music collection; 13.30 -15.30 - session one; 15.30 - 16.00 - refreshments; 16.00 - 17.30 - session two
Bristol Choral Society launched The Big Picture, a CD of contemporary choral music during lockdown and copies can be ordered here or purchased at this event. The Big Picture features music by Judith Weir, Master of the Queen's Music.
