A new scenic multi terrain 10 mile race.It’s mostly off road through woods and along the river Coly. Organised by Axe valley Runners. The ColyTEN is a 10 mile multi terrain race taking place on Sunday 13th October.
Race starts beside the river Coly, a 5 minute walk from race HQ. After the first footpath river section there is a short road run to Chantry Bridge where there you head off road to pick up the footpath again. You then cross the river and begin a steep ascent through Ox Woods. On reaching the summit there is a short descent down Jobbles Lane before entering Morganhayes woodland. This is an undulating section of woodland paths with a couple of steep climbs and a short road section. On exiting the woods you have about 3 miles to go all of which is downhill or flat with about 1 mile of this on road. On entering the playing field there is a lap of the field to the finish where you will receive your finishers buff and a well earned drink and flapjack.
Race HQ opens at 08:00 for registration, number collection and bagdrop. Numbers to be pinned to the front of your vest ensuring completion of personal details on the reverse.
On site toilet facilities available.
Limited parking on site and also at Colyton town centre ( compliant.earth.waffle) and in the field opposite Shiphay Farm ( EX24 6EU limelight.earth.waffle) which is a 10 minute walk from race HQ. Please car share where possible please.
Refreshments will be served before and after the race.
Race briefing @ 09:45 followed by a 5 minute walk to the start.
There will be 2 cup less water stations at about 2.5 & 7.5 miles. A 3 hour cut off time will be enforced.
Please note no dogs are allowed at the Race HQ at the Peace Memorial Playing Fields.
The first male and female finishers will receive the Phil Bayliss memorial trophies and there will be prizes for 1st,2nd,3rd M/F and 1st,2nd M/F V40, V50, V60.
