✨ Columbus Zoo Lantern Festival ✨July 31 – October 5, 2025 | Thursdays–Sundays | 7:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Get ready for a brand-new, family-friendly experience lighting up Central Ohio! The Columbus Zoo Lantern Festival is an 8-week evening event featuring more than 70 incredible sets of handcrafted Asian lanterns that celebrate wildlife from around the world. Multicolored LED animal lanterns will illuminate winding paths across the Zoo, creating a glowing journey you won’t forget.
This after-hours event also includes jaw-dropping custom performances, access to Zoo rides like Tidal Twist and our historic carousel, select animal areas, interactive photo ops, and rolling celebrations with Zoo Character Ambassadors. While many of our animals will be resting for the night, the lanterns are the stars of this magical celebration.
Inspired by centuries-old Chinese lantern-making traditions, this stunning festival blends ancient artistry with modern technology bringing the Zoo to life in a whole new light.
