Columbia Pro Cantare Sings MessiahSunday, December 7, 2025, 7:30 pm
Jim Rouse Theatre, Columbia
CPC presented its first concert of Handel's Messiah in 1984. Why does the performance continue to attract a large audience year after year? We have some ideas: the stirring message of hope expressed in Handel's masterpiece; the well-trained chorus singing from their hearts; fabulous guest soloists who capture your attention with their voices and emotion; and a professional orchestra composed of some of the finest instrumentalists in the area.
Join the Columbia Pro Cantare chorus and Festival Orchestra conducted by Artistic Director Laura Lee Fischer featuring soloists Amy Van Roekel, soprano, Leah Serr Gibson, mezzo, Charles Reid, tenor, Lester Lynch, baritone, and Henry Lowe, positiv organ.
Free pre-concert lecture at 6:30 pm with a reception to follow the concert. Tickets: $25, $20 (students and senior citizens) in advance; $2 more at door. Children 15 and under: $10. Discounted tickets for groups of 10 or more. Order tickets online (www.procantare.org) or by phone, 301.854.0107.
