This playful, hands-on workshop invites young minds to explore the magic, chemistry, and creativity of natural colours using real textiles. Through guided play, children will learn simple yet ancient Shibori resist-dyeing techniques using popsticks, blocks, and rubber bands to create patterns. They will then discover the magic of the Indigo vat, witnessing the color transform from green to brilliant blue before their eyes, and experiment with the cheerful yellow of Marigold.
By the end of the session, each child will take home their custom-dyed, functional textile pieces—scrunchies and a handkerchief—and gain a deeper appreciation for the Earth`s creative abundance and the sustainable craft legacy of Colorkari Dyeing. This is a productive, safe, and fun learning experience!
