This is the ultimate clinic with a day on horsemanship skills, a day working on trail & obstacles, and the final day on cow working. You will get to experience 3 fun packed days designed to help you build a better partnership with your horse. You will learn how to be your horse’s leader and develop a connection with your horse. From practical skills like dragging a log to cutting a cow, you are sure to walk away feeling more confident. The clinic is limited to 12 riders. Be sure to pre-register to save your spot. What you can expect to learn from each day?
Friday – Horsemanship skills
Ever wonder what your horse could feel like at his best? Find out how you can develop a relaxed, willing partner in your horse. You will learn how to cultivate connection with your horse so that they want to be with you. This foundation sets you up for the next 2 days.
Saturday – Trails & Obstacles
You will get practical experience crossing creeks and obstacles of all kinds! We talk through how to handle situations that may be stressful for you or your horse on the trail. You will learn how to show up as your horse’s leader.
Sunday – Cow Working
You will learn the basics of how to develop an all-around handy horse. You will get the opportunity to sort cattle and learn how to cut & hold a cow. This gives you and your horse the chance to apply all the skills you’ve developed over the clinic to use. This is a ton of fun! You won’t want to miss it!
Who is this clinic for?
This is designed for the beginner to intermediate rider that wants to build their skills and their horse’s confidence in different situations. You will learn how to read your horse’s body language and how to show up as your horse’s leader inside & outside the arena.
About your Instructor:
Matea Babcock has trained and helped many trail horses relax into riding out. As a horse development specialist, she understands the horse psychology behind the training that can fast track your progress. She has been teaching professionally for the last 10 years and her experience in the horse industry ranges from colt starting, and trail riding green horses to training gaited horses, and cow horses. She’s ridden in tough country from the Continental Divide in CO to trails in Montana. Using her knowledge and experience, she strives to help you develop the skills and confidence you need to be successful out on the trail with your horse.
Price: $750/rider for the weekend or $300/rider/day
Auditors are welcome at $50/day
*Included in the price is coffee and donuts each morning, and lunch each afternoon. Board for your horse is also included. RV hook-up’s are $50/night.

FAQ
What level of rider is this clinic for?
This clinic is designed for the novice to intermediate rider. A rider who is in control in at a trot, but might have limited experience cantering. Must be able to to saddle, dismount, mount unassisted, and capable of applying basic aids (stopping, yielding, turning, etc).
Can I bring a green horse to this event?
Yes, absolutely. We have a supportive environment perfect to grow your green horse’s confidence and it will provide you with unique opportunities to give your horse more experience in multiple settings.
My horse has never seen cows. Is this a good clinic for him?
Yes, this is a great clinic for first timers. We focus on building confidence first and foremost. Each day will build, challenge and empower you to grow your skills.
