The Colorado Bluebird Project, guided by Denver Audubon and offered through POST Partners in Castle Rock, is a volunteer-driven initiative dedicated to enhancing the health of bluebird populations in Colorado. The project also seeks to educate the community about these remarkable birds. Learn details about the Colorado Bluebird Project.
With the invaluable support of hundreds of volunteers and students from Castle Rock schools, we have closely monitored thousands of nests for native cavity-nesting birds, including bluebirds, swallows, wrens, and chickadees since the first box was installed in 2007 and has grown to more than 200 boxes located at 34 different parks, trails, open space areas and schools around Castle Rock. With that support, the project has grown to reach an important milestone by helping over 10,000 chicks successfully fledge from our network of nest boxes across Town.
