The Colorado Bluebird Project in Castle Rock operates under the POST Partners Volunteer Program with guidance from Denver Audubon. The project improves the vitality of native bluebird populations and educates the public about bluebirds. Since 2007, the program has maintained and monitored over 200 nest boxes at 35 different sites throughout Castle Rock. The Colorado Bluebird Project needs volunteers for weekly monitoring of breeding activity in the nest boxes beginning April 1 through mid-August. This program is suitable for families and individuals of all ages looking for a rewarding, fun and educational way to interact with local wildlife in their own backyard.
