On TUESDAY, September 24, we welcome Andrea Sansone and Andrew Hamilton to the Chalet to hear their recent challenge among our Colorado 14ers."We set out to establish a new record. The co-ed 14er record. With an all too aggressive plan from the start, by day 4 we had slammed ourselves so hard into the ground we almost quit. We had quit, for a moment.
How do you put the hardest, most painful, yet most incredible journey into words? This record wasn't just about a time, it was about our community and the encouragement we received, the struggle, the comeback, pulling ourselves back up from the depths of hell, and continuing. It’s about our crew and the family we formed. We are proud of ourselves. We faced injury, breathing issues, electrical storms, doubt, we laughed a couple times, but most of all we kept going, we never took the quitting step.
In the face of adversity - when the bail out option was knocking so loudly at our car door, we chose to take another step.
Our relationship thrives through these hard projects. His patience, the fun we have listening to the same things when we are suffering, our encouragement towards each other, our opposite highs and lows - it all allows us to experience an intimacy that is so rare we can only look back with a sense of pride and feeling of gratitude."
