Color Wars Retreat

This retreat is going to be the most “EPIC” retreat EVER, and you won’t want to miss out!!! My dear friend, Meggan Jacks is coming to Pennsylvania to teach classes at our fall retreat. Meggan has transformed the scrapbooking world with her innovative and inspiring instructional YouTube videos, empowering croppers of all levels to create with confidence. She is nothing less than a gem of a woman and is super excited to be our “special guest”. Meggan and I also invited Amber Klimek from Home Office to attend to have an advisor training element to our fun-filled weekend. Amber will be hosting the paper buffet on Thursday night along with providing supportive training to our advisors. The retreat is going to be a competition between teams. The teams are based off the CM cardstock colors and will be broken down into groups of 9-11 attendees. Each team captain will oversee team “spirit” and coordinate matching “flair”. Teams are encouraged to proudly wear their team colors throughout the weekend but most importantly Saturday’s award dinner. You will have the opportunity to choose your team, but it’s first come first serve. Once a team is filled up, I will then try and get you onto your second choice team. But I cannot guarantee that. So, I HIGHLY recommend getting your forms and $150 deposit in asap. This will ensure you are on your preferred team and with your cropping buddies.
Event Details- Cost of the retreat is $280 and covers all 4 days of cropping, Friday Dinner, Saturday lunch and dinner, Sunday brunch, the SOLD OUT Rainbow Dot Project tote, paper buffet, color war challenges, and participation in the make & take. There will be 90 available spots for the event. I’m asking everyone to please print out the form and mail in a deposit with a $150 CHECK. I will NOT be accepting PayPal or Venmo for crop fees anymore. Thank you for understanding and completing your registration form completely. Meggan’s class sign up and final payment will be due September 1st. Teams are a first come, first served. There will be no more than 11 croppers per team. If you select a team that is filled, you will be assigned to another team.
Food- The retreat includes 4 meals- Friday Dinner buffet- Sliced Bistro Tenderloin (GF), stuffed chicken breast, house salad, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted broccoli, and dessert. Saturday Lunch buffet- Baked potato bar with all the toppings, grilled chicken breast, and cookies & brownie dessert bar. Saturday Dinner buffet- Roasted pulled pork and grilled BBQ chicken along with potato salad and macaroni & cheese. Sunday brunch- scrambled eggs, fresh pastries, fresh fruit, breakfast potatoes with peppers & onions, toast, bacon, and pancakes.
Team Descriptions and Captains- During the retreat there will be different challenges to earn points for your team. Each team will sport their team colors throughout the weekend but especially on Saturday’s award dinner. Teams are encouraged to wear “spirited” attire (goofy hats, tutus, etc.). Your team captain will reach out to you to let you know what the team is wearing closer to the event. At the award dinner the winning team will be announced and each of the attendees on the winning team will win a $20 product credit!!!! We will also have our group photo at that time.
Team Pinkalicious- team captain Ruth Somogyi. Team Pink is all about the bold, bright, and beautiful vibes. This team sports sass, Barbie, flamingos, and all things fabulously PINK! The pink team will be cropping in the ballroom
Team Christmas Red- team captain Mary Giest- HO HO, Merry Christmas!!! Team Red is bringing all the holiday cheer. Don’t forget to pack your ugly sweaters, Santa hats, and reindeer antlers. Team Red is going to be merry and bright all weekend long! Team Red will be cropping in the ballroom
Team Sunshine Yellow- team captain Donna Nowosielski! Our radiant yellow team will be walking on sunshine as they celebrate all things bright and cheerful. Think of sunshine, bananas, sunflowers, and everything yellow! This team is going to shine together! The team will be cropping in the ballroom
Team Monarch Butterflies (orange)- team captain Sharon Swisher- Get ready to flutter to victory with the Monarch Butterflies. This orange vibrant team is bursting with creative energy. Dressed in bold orange butterfly wings, they’ll be soaring through the challenges with spirit. Wings out and Game ON! The orange team will be cropping in the Links conference room
Team Sea Green Mermaids- team captain Meggan Jacks- Make a splash with the Mer-mazing Sea Green Mermaids. This team is ready to dive into the competition with shimmer and serious team spirit. With tails flipping and scales sparkling, they’re riding the wave to victory! The deep sea green team will be cropping in the Links conference center.
Caribbean Island Waters- team captain Sherry Gaventa- This team brings all the Hawaiian vibes with turquoise waters, sandy beaches, flipflops, and sunglasses. Grab your Hawaiian shirts because it’s about to get tropical. The Island waters team will be cropping in the Links conference center.
Navy Seals- team captain Dawn DiGiovacchino- This team is unstoppable with American pride and star-spangled spirit. They are decked out in red, white and blue to tackle all the challenges. They have their eyes on the prize and never back down! Team Navy will be cropping in the ballroom.
Lavendar Haze- team captain Kate Haddad- This team is bringing full-on Taylor Swift energy, including friendship bracelets, glitter and fearless fun. They are going to make the whole competition shine!!! Team Lavendar will be cropping in the ballroom.
Classes- There are a variety of classes being offered during the retreat. Kate Haddad will be teaching the Gem Tones class on Thursday evening. Emily will be teaching an “ugly duckling” challenge on Friday night after dinner. Emily is also offering a virtual Advanced Croptoberfest class kit to be completed during the weekend. Meggan will be teaching on both Friday and Saturday. Please take advantage of the classes and sign up. Meggan is literally flying across the county to teach these classes, which is an incredible treat! Her classes won’t be finalized until July, and you will sign up directly with her.
Advanced Croptober Class - Emily’s class will feature the Creative Memories’ Croptober 2025 recipe kit. The 2-page spread is an advanced alternative to the project recipe in the kit. The class includes a Croptober recipe kit with all the pieces precut. The class sample will be posted once the Croptober items become available. Cost is $22
Gem Tones Class- Kreative Kate’s class will be a 2-page spread to featuring the retired CM’s paper pack and embellishments featuring Gem Tones. The Gem Tones collection was an exclusive collection from a secret box. There are only 18 seats available. Cost is $22 (The class is offered on Thursday night)
Ugly Duckling Challenge- Emily will be teaching a fun and quick class where you’ll get to choose your own class kit from a variety of one-off and leftover sets of paper kits. You will follow along with her instructions and have hands-on help as you bring your layout to life. You’ll be amazed at how these castoff papers can be transformed into a gorgeous layout you’ll be proud to show off! There are 20 seats available and the cost $8 (The class is offered on Friday night after dinner)

Advisor Training Breakfast- prior to the start of the event, we are inviting CM advisors to a 3-hour training session on Thursday morning. The plan is for Meggan, Amber and I to discuss some of the challenges with running a successful CM business. Meggan will be focusing on how to take your business virtually and the success she has found teaching online classes. My session will be about the success I have found in running events and tips that helped ignite my business. This is an incredible opportunity to meet other CM advisors, share ideas, and become inspired. We will enjoy a brunch break, so we can mingle and enjoy a good breakfast prior to the crop. The cost is $30
