Come discover the peaceful rhythm of watercolor in this fun and fully guided beginner-friendly class series. Whether you’re brand new to painting or returning to creativity after a break, this four-week series will gently introduce you to the world of watercolor — no perfection required.
Each week, you'll explore new techniques, create beautiful studies and small finished pieces, and build your confidence while learning the language of color, water, and flow. You'll leave with framable artwork and the foundational skills to continue your watercolor journey with joy.
🌟 What You’ll Learn:
Week 1: Watercolor Basics + Color Theory
Exploring tools, paints, paper, and brushes
Intro to the color wheel: primary, secondary, complementary
Fun swatching and mixing exercises
Water control techniques: wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry
Peaceful painting practice: mindful mark-making + washes
Week 2: Brushwork, Shapes & Nature Forms
How to hold and move your brush for control + freedom
Creating organic shapes from nature (leaves, petals, stones)
Layering transparent colors and lifting paint
Simple composition and design tips
Painting a small nature-inspired piece
Week 3: Light, Shadow & Expressive Painting
Value (light to dark) and how to add depth
Creating contrast and atmosphere
Playing with expressive brushstrokes + water flow
Emotional storytelling through color
Paint a loose floral or landscape mini
Week 4: Intuitive Watercolor + Final Artwork
Creating a personal palette
Combining what you’ve learned into a unique piece
Intuitive and meditative painting approach
Final project: create a finished artwork to frame
Optional: brief group share + reflection

The classes are Thursday's from 6:00-8:00pm September 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th
All student grade materials provided for this series — just bring yourself and an open heart. Future classes will build upon these skills, and returning students will be guided to bring their own set in the next level.
