Hello everyone,Salsasabrosita.be is pleased to announce that Polo Castillo is coming for the first time to Leuven for a great bootcamp on December, 7th.
🔥Who is Polo Castillo?
Salsa teacher of the old school (de la vieja guardia) founder of the Florencia y Son dance school in Florencia, Caquetá-Colombia (Current dance school: A ritmo latino). He is one of the salsa pioneers in the region there. He is also known for his teaching method.
🔥What is Cali style?
It is a style of salsa dancing in Colombia that stands out worldwide for its rapid movements of the legs . Dancers do not lean their bodies when they change weight, as they do in other salsa styles. They maintain an upright posture while performing extended steps with their feet. Cali is considered the salsa capital of Latin America. Every year in December there is Feria de Cali (a procession in which an average of 50 salsa schools from Cali and more than 1000 salsa dancers and dance orchestras participate). Then parades are organized for a week like the carnival in Brazil, but instead of samba this is salsa. And every evening there are different performances by well-known salsa groups and singers.
We will be hosting 3 hours during his visit in Leuven.

2pm – Cali Style Salsa basics, shines and technique.
3pm – Cali Style Salsa partnerwork.
4pm – Fun Choreography + surprise.
Requirement:
A minimum of 20 lessons of salsa dancing experience (whether it's Cuban, LA, Colombian, New York, or any other style) is necessary.
📌Venue: Raadzaal van het gemeentehuis Heverlee. Waversebaan 66, 3001 Leuven. Parking available.
