Bookends & Beginnings is pleased to present an evening with bestselling author at , Tuesday, April 15 at 7:00 PM. The author will discuss his latest novel, (a sequel to his previous beloved novel ), in conversation with WBEZ's Morning Edition host . Your ticket to this event includes a copy of the just-released paperback edition of Long Island.
Colm Tóibín is one of the most widely read writers in contemporary Irish literature. He has published fiction and nonfiction, including travelogues, essays, and criticism. Born in Enniscorthy in 1955, he is the author of 11 novels including , , , , and . His work has been shortlisted for The Booker Prize three times and has won the Costa Novel and IMPAC Awards. He has also published two collections of stories and many works of non-fiction.
Mary Dixon has been hosting Morning Edition on 91.5 WBEZ since February of 2020. Before then, she co-hosted the 93XRT morning show and was a reporter for XRT, WGN-TV, and CNN’s Chicago bureau. She and her husband, the writer and podcaster Mark Caro, live in Evanston with their two children.
Doors for this event will open at 6:00 PM. The event will take place from 7:00 to 8:00, followed by a signing line.
