The Collinsville Garden Club will have its annual plant sale from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the historic D.D. Collins House. In recognition and celebration of Arbor Day, Mary Sue Schusky will give a program about Johnny Appleseed and the grafted apple tree planted in the side yard of the house at 11:00 a.m.
To commemorate the event, free tree seedlings will be given (while supply lasts) during the Johnny Appleseed program. We give a big thank you to the Arbor Day organizers and the Illinois Natural Resources Forestry Department for providing the tree seedlings that will be given at the event as well as a special thank you to Crain Tree Farm for donating a tree to the Collins House grounds to mark Arbor Day.
