The College Hill PorchFest is a a wonderful afternoon of music & community that takes place on Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 1-6 PM. This event will feature more than 60 performances on some 30+ porches, parks and yards located in the “flats” of College Hill. Rain date is Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025.All musicians and groups (professionals, amateurs, and everything in between) volunteer to perform at designated times and locations, playing sets about 45 minutes long that start at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. Attendees stroll from porch to porch with blankets or folding chairs in hand ready to enjoy their preferred musical groups.
The music will vary broadly from jazz to classical to folk to show tunes to country to all kinds of rock - we've even got shows by a bagpiper, a drum circle, a ukulele ensemble and a gong meditation - with solo artists, duos, and groups large and small.
Local organizations and nonprofits will have informational tables, and there will be activities for kids as well.
The grand finale will be the band Big Easy Easton Brass leading a Second Line parade through the neighborhood bringing a New Orleans tradition to the streets of Easton. A Second Line parade is not one you just watch go by, it’s one you participate in: walk along, dance along, sing along, shake a tambourine, fill the streets with bubbles or even learn to play an instrument and jump on in. This band wants to blur the line between spectator and participant.
The PorchFest concept started in Ithaca, NY in 2007. It has now spread across the country but only in Easton does it exist in the Lehigh Valley and western New Jersey.
PorchFest is supported by The Village on College Hill, and Lafayette College, both in Easton PA, as well as others including WDIY 88.1 FM.
