The College & Career Readiness program is hosted by L.O.V.E Our Youth and Dramatic Education made possible by a grant from the City of Orlando. The mission of this program is to introduce careers, financial education, and foster insight for each student about what their future goals are. This program will stimulate insight through the use of career assessments, financial education, professional development activities, and Q/A sessions. This program will be informative and interactive inside of class and out of it.
What to Expect
This will be a two day bootcamp. Attendance is highly encouraged on both days, so that students can get the full effect and experience of the program. There will be mini-homework assignments given to students after every session and opportunities for parent engagement throughout. Topics that will be discussed includes (not limited to):
Career Cluster Workshop - Students will become more familiar with a variety of careers, and how to to make sound decisions towards the career field they’re interested in.
Financial Aid Workshop - Students will learn the financial aid process from the first application, to seeking funding sources and budgeting.
Mock Job Interviews - Students will learn how to answer difficult questions, develop interview strategies and improve communication skills.
** Lunch will be provided on both days **
Day 1 - Attire: Represent Your College - Students are invited to wear their favorite college t-shirt.
Day 2 - Attire: Business Casual - Students are invited to come in job interview attire.
